Testimonial from Frank Corso – Supervisor for Structures Construction for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, January 6, 2009.

Corso said “The Acrow Bridge installed over the Garden State Parkway in Lacey Township, New Jersey allowed the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to restore traffic on a permanent structure in 105 days.” Corso adds “Acrow’s support of George Harms Construction Company and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority exceeded expectations.”

Essex Country was lucky to find a temporary bridge on such short notice. Many of Acrow's Bridges are in the disaster areas of the Gulf and South America. Fortunately, the Carlstadt company had a span available to meet Verona's needs. We have a better bridge than we had before.

Testimonial from Ian McPherson, McPherson-Andrews Contracting Limited. January 5, 2005

Having recently completed our third Acrow Panel Bridge, we have been impressed with both the bridge structure and the professional services offered by Acrow Limited. For each project, all aspects of Acrow's supply were handled efficiently from the provision of drawings to the supply of materials to the technical assistance provided during construction.

The cost of constructing Acrow Bridges is easy to estimate as the system is simple, consistent in quality, and predictable in terms of labour and equipment requirements. When we bid on the installation of an Acrow Bridge, we know there will be no unpleasant surprises. The Acrow Bridge is a cost effective and practical solution for municipal applications or as a detour structure.

We look forward to building many more.

Ian McPherson, President -- McPherson-Andrews Contracting Limited, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Helping Our Neighbors During a Time of Need
By Commissioner Jack Lettiere, "Jack's Outbox", July 26, 2004

For residents, business-owners and commuters in Burlington County, these past two weeks were as tough as they get. Over a foot of rain fell in areas of the county, causing major flooding, dam breaks, bridge washouts and devastation to people's homes and businesses.

On Route 70 in Southampton Township, the bridge over Friendship Creek was washed out by a wall of water that overwhelmed the roadway and surrounding area. The people there needed our help - and fast.

I am very proud to say that NJDOT staff responded swiftly and effectively - from getting traffic control in place, to assessing damage and making emergency repairs, to working with local officials and police. It was a collaborative effort that reached beyond divisional lines within the Department. We worked hard as a team and we achieved results.

And using the same creative, responsive collaboration between NJDOT, our contractor IEW, Inc., engineering consultants Hatch Mott McDonald and A.G. Lichtenstein, Inc., the Acrow Bridge Corporation and officials from Southampton Township and Burlington County, we opened a temporary span on Route 70 to replace the destroyed bridge. Our goal is to have a permanent one in place by early fall.

I would also like to recognize the following areas within NJDOT for their hard work and efforts: our maintenance crews in Region South, Operations Support, Field Survey, Maintenance Engineering & Operations, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Traffic Operations, Traffic Engineering & Safety, Procurement, Communications, Design Services and Emergency Management. I am also appreciative of the help and cooperation we received from the State Police and local police forces.

How did we accomplish the above so quickly? Because we were determined to help, we used innovative thinking, we rolled up our sleeves for the tasks at hand, and we delivered. Our ability to work together allowed us to attain very fast results. We did our job well and we were rightly praised by Burlington County officials for this work.

In my view, our desire to help people in a time of need was matched by how well we operate as a team. When you match desire with effectiveness, you get results and that is why we are the best agency in state government.

Although this rainfall has been categorized as a "1,000 year event," I am pleased to say that NJDOT's response proved that day in and day out, we are ready and able. I would like to thank everyone - your efforts were extraordinary. Keep up the good work!

Sincerely,

Commissioner Jack Lettiere

Testimonial from Mario Maltais, P.Eng. Peter Kiewit Sons Co.

"In December 2003, Peter Kiewit Sons Co. (PKS) erected a 137 meter, 3 span single lane Acrow Panel Bridge at Sioux Narrows, Ontario. Although PKS had previous experience erecting Acrow Panel Bridges, this project was unique, due to the size of the structure, and the extremely aggressive completion schedule.

Acrow's Site Engineer, Jack Bishara, P.Eng. and staff at Acrow's Bolton, Ontario and New Jersey offices provided all details required to complete the launching and jacking procedure prior to the erection; they also provided constant and affective assistance responding to our every need promptly during the erection of the bridge. Acrow's technical assistance and high standard of steel components contributed greatly to a successful project completed 12 days ahead of schedule.

We welcome the opportunity to participate in another Acrow Bridge project.

Kiewit's Eastern Canada District has chosen the Sioux Narrows project to be part of a presentation to be held at an upcoming annual meeting with all of our Project Managers from the United States and Canada at our head office in Omaha, Nebraska."

Testimonial from Jackson Jennings, Canadian Department of National Defence

"Acrow Limited of Bolton, Ontario supplied the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) with 13 bridges in 1995 and 1996 for use as a line of communications bridging system, replacing the aging fleet of Bailey Bridging. There are several differences between civilian and military bridges, the biggest is that military bridges are erected for a short period of time and then dismantled to be assembled elsewhere. The unique advantage to the Acrow Bridging is that it readily adapts to each new site. Not only has the bridging system performed very well, but Acrow has excelled in the area of after contract support. Requests for additional components are actioned promptly, within the stated time frame and price. They are always quick to respond to requests from DND for technical assistance"

Jackson Jennings, Contractor to DND, responsible for management of Bridging Systems.

On behalf of New York City I want to thank you for the part you played in the successful clean up of the World Trade Center site. The response on the part of the construction industry to the devastating attacks of September 11, 2001 was remarkable - from around the country and the world offers of help, assistance, supplies and equipment flooded in. Your company, along with hundreds of others, provided the know-how, equipment, expertise and professionalism to do the job and to do it right. Your company and hundreds like it responded when the need was there. I cannot be more appreciative. Thank you.
